Serving Refugees: A Firsthand Account from a Congolese Pastor (AUDIO)

Every day, 44,400 people are forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution, according to the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). In 1996, Pastor Bigimba was one of them, escaping war-torn Congo for neighboring Burundi. Years later he immigrated to the U.S.
In the first of two sessions answering the question “Now what do we do?,” Pastor Bigimba, a refugee of the Congo War, shares own story as a refugee. Then Pastor Bigimba and fellow Pastor Gary of Goshen International Church share how Goshen Ministries is responding to the refugee crisis in Tucson, Arizona, and how we can partner with them.
Listen as Pastor Bigimba and Pastor Gary begin to offer answers to the question, “Now what?” As the speakers talk practically about how to love and serve refugees well, consider how God may be inviting you to join with Him.
This seminar was recorded live at the 2018 Equip missions training in Tucson, Arizona. Equip is a quarterly training event sponsored by MTW West Coast designed to deepen your understanding of missions and help you see how God’s global plan intersects with your life. Additional seminars are available on Soundcloud.
