“I don’t know if I can do it. I’m not sure what to say,” the Japanese high school student said anxiously. The student had been a Christian for a while but had never shared the gospel with a large group before. The missionary discipling him had asked him to translate and help share the gospel at a Christmas outreach event for a local orphanage in Nagoya, Japan, and understood the young man’s nervousness.

Together they discussed what to share and the best way to communicate the gospel. They finally decided to focus on the good news that God desires a relationship with us.

The presentation went well and the student gained confidence. But what struck the missionary most was the glimpse he got of multi-generational ministry. A pastor ministers to a missionary, the missionary disciples a student, the student shares the gospel with orphans. Missions is about learning to take our place as just one link in the chain and trust the Holy Spirit to work.

You are a vital part of the chain. Thank you for your generous support of global missions.
