The 18.26 Network
The 18.26 Network offers a new paradigm for missions: sending people who find secular jobs and do ministry in partnership with existing missionaries on the ground. Unlike traditional missionaries who must raise 100 percent of their support, this network facilitates those who want to take their professional gifts and talents overseas and sustainably support themselves for long-term cross-cultural missions. Unlike the business as mission model, people obtain employment in an existing business instead of starting their own. The 18.26 Network can help connect them with MTW teams or like-minded global partners, provide training and ongoing care, and even assist with the job search.
Missionaries who deploy through the 18.26 Network model do not replace traditional, financially supported missionaries but work alongside them. Both models are biblical and much-needed as we seek to follow the Great Commission and spread the gospel of hope in Christ to the ends of the earth. The 18.26 Network provides one more way to follow that call by leveraging secular resources for sacred kingdom expansion.
