Claudia: A Life Transformed in Bogota (VIDEO)

Claudia grew up in a Catholic family in Bogota, Colombia, but as a teenager, decided that the church was not answering her needs and stopped attending. As Claudia was finishing high school, someone preached the gospel to her mother and led her to the Lord. Claudia’s mother shared the gospel with her kids, and faithfully prayed for them, but they remained uninterested.

One night at the university, after attending a brain and behavior class about the biological nature of dreams, Claudia had a dream where her fears came to life and she tasted a terrifying life and death without Jesus. She prayed: “God, if you’re real I don’t want to experience this anymore. I can’t think to live this life and face that for eternity.” She reached for a Bible her mom had given her and God comforted her with the words of Psalm 91. Though the professor teaching her class explained her dreams away in scientific terms, Claudia knew God had met her that night. Her life changed and she began to meet with other believers to study God’s Word. And she began fervently praying for university students. Years later, after serving in Cusco, Peru, Claudia is back at the university, now serving with MTW and RUF-Global. All around, she can see that God has been answering the prayers she sowed there long ago.
