Smith, Tom & Mylicah

Serving in United States | Acct # 400794

PERSONAL NOTE

Tom and Mylicah believe the Lord is calling them to serve the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians in Cherokee, North Carolina. There they plan to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Cherokee through outreach and discipleship in the context of the local MTW church plant. The Smiths will join MTW missionaries Scott and Ruth Hill who have planted Grace Community Church in Cherokee.

While many Cherokee have heard the gospel invitation, few have understood the good news of the kingdom or have been taught to obey all that Jesus commanded (Matt 28:20). Tom and Mylicah wish to serve others in the Cherokee community and disciple those whom God brings into Grace Community. The long-term goal is to see God raise up Indigenous men who will become pastors and elders at Grace Community.

As a teaching elder in the PCA, Tom has discipled others as an associate pastor in Pennsylvania and as a missionary in Croatia. Mylicah's nursing background has given her experience in empathy, listening to others, and finding ways to solve problems. Tom and Mylicah realize that it will take time to demonstrate love and build relationships.
