Rob & Rebecca Hessenauer

Robert and Rebecca are preparing to serve in Slovakia, bringing experience, compassion, and a heart for gospel ministry. Robert holds a master’s degree in international development, and together they spent three and a half years in Ukraine and Romania doing NGO work with their two children. Rebecca, with degrees in English and theatre, has spent over 20 years working with children and is passionate about literacy and discipleship.

In Slovakia, they will support a church planting movement among both Slovak and Roma communities. They will come alongside Slovak pastors—encouraging, assisting, and building relationships to establish gospel-centered, outward-focused churches.

Among the Roma, a marginalized group, the ministry is growing rapidly. What began with one believer has become a thriving church community with many recent baptisms, though challenges like poverty and injustice remain.

Robert and Rebecca will serve as bridge-builders—connecting churches to their communities, supporting leaders, and sharing the hope of Christ. They plan to move in summer 2027 with their children. Please pray for wisdom, unity, and lasting gospel impact.
