BERG Apprenticeship Program
Germany | Project # P-0963
The Bekennenden Evangelisch-Reformierten Gemeinde, or BERG, is a partner denomination of confessing, evangelical, Reformed churches. They have developed an apprenticeship program to identify and equip the next generation of confessional pastors and church planters across the German-speaking world. While there is a growing need for biblically grounded leadership, local churches often lack the financial capacity to provide structured, paid training opportunities. Many gifted men sense a call to pastoral ministry, yet without practical, mentored experience in a healthy local church, their preparation remains incomplete. The need for theologically trained, spiritually mature, and mission-minded leaders continues to be significant across Germany and beyond.
Through this apprenticeship program, selected candidates serve for a defined training period within the BERG church in Giessen, receiving hands-on ministry experience, theological reflection, and close pastoral mentoring. Donations to this project are used to enable the church to offer a sustainable and focused training environment. By supporting this program, donors invest directly in the long-term strengthening of Reformed church ministry in the German-speaking context.
