Matia Weierbach

At 5 years old Matia was adopted. But years later, the same family that adopted her when she was 5 kicked her out. As one could imagine, both as a kid and then as an adult, she had a forever burning question “Am I loved?”. Though she didn’t know it when she was young, she got the answer every week at Sunday school when she would sing “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know.”

She got the answer again in high school when she went to a church camp and was told repeatedly that Jesus loved her. And again, when her pastor’s family welcomed her into their home and family after her adoptive family kicked her out. Although it wasn’t obvious to at the time, God was guiding her throughout the years using others in her life to tell and show her that He loved her and to give her the gift of love and hope.

Matia is passionate about sharing the gospel. From her own experience she knows how impactful hearing the good news can be, especially for young adults. She is excited to be on the team in El Salvador where people are looking for something to put their hope in.
