Daughters of Bulgaria

We don’t always think of a country’s top export as being its daughters and children. Yet for Bulgaria, Europe’s poorest country, this is life. MTW’s church planting team in Bulgaria was confronted with this reality and sensed God’s prompting to act.

The Daughters of Bulgaria is a movement mobilizing Christians from different backgrounds to be a coalition committed to serving sexually exploited women in Bulgaria and those trafficked throughout Europe. Their mission is to move women from vulnerability to wholeness through targeted efforts in prevention, rescue, and restoration.

The God of redemption is at work in Bulgaria through this ministry as they reach out to victims, mobilize churches, and offer resources and training to many organizations. The team has launched the “Rose Garden Project,” a long-term recovery program for women and their children. Participants gain a new community, new way of life, and experience the love of Christ as they are folded into the local church.
