MTW’s team in Lethbridge, Canada, is committed to reaching out to their city of 100,000, a multicultural area that includes many First Nations (Blackfoot) residents. Opioid addiction is pervasive, and the city has the largest “safe consumption” site in the world. Not surprisingly, many other areas of brokenness are also present. Amazing Grace Community Church was planted in the early 2000s and faithfully reaches out into the surrounding community, offering the gospel and true hope.
Lethbridge offers a cross-cultural international experience without a language barrier. God is doing an awesome work here and we are seeing children, youth, and families come to Christ, and a community being transformed by the love of Christ.
We are looking for a trained counselor, ideally someone with experience in trauma counseling, to journey with clients through issues such as sexual abuse, alcoholism, and opioid addition. Even better would be a couple who can work together and provide family counseling.
But most important of all, we are looking for humble followers of Christ, broken people who have experienced the outpouring of the love of Christ, who have a servant’s heart, and are teachable. Even if you don’t quite have the counseling experience we need, we would still love to talk with you (individuals/couples/families) if you would like to come long-term to serve with us and learn!
