South, Sarah

Serving in Ukraine | Acct # 400455

PERSONAL NOTE

Sarah grew up in a church that had a large focus on missions, encouraging people of all ages to participate in global missions. This sparked a desire in Sarah to explore other cultures and partake in short term mission trips with the goal of becoming a missionary one day. She had the opportunity to travel all over the world on several trips throughout high school.

While in college, she received a scholarship to go on a summer missions internship, which led her to find the Greenhouse internship in Lviv, Ukraine, with Mission to the World. After participating in the internship, the Lord made it clear this was where He wanted to her serve long-term. Shortly after, Russia invaded Ukraine. Sarah’s heart broke for the country and the people, causing an even greater desire for her to serve the people of Ukraine. After processing and healing from her personal experience of grief and trauma from family circumstances, Sarah’s desire is to care for those experiencing grief and trauma as well. She will serve with the local church plant for the next three years involved in college and youth ministry.
