Coppersmith, Walt & Barbara

Japan remains the second largest unreached people group in the world. Roughly 95 percent of the Japanese people have never met a Christian. But Japan is open and God is blessing the efforts of MTW’s church-planting teams. After following these efforts in Japan over several years and encouraging those on the front lines of ministry, Walt and Barbara are joining MTW Japan.

In addition to having a heart for the Japanese people and relationships with other missionaries on the field, Walt and Barbara bring gifts of leadership development and hospitality to offer in service.

Walt will be an assistant to the country director, and will be working with ministry leaders, learning and encouraging them in their efforts. Weekends will be spent in Tokyo with the staff and growing congregation of Grace City Church, especially with efforts to help young business professionals integrate faith and work.

Walt and Barbara will also be involved in teaching English, building bridges with Japanese people through cultural understanding, and sharing the love of Christ.
